You can spend all the money in the world on your Christmas gifts and they can still turn out to be a pointless waste. Good gifts don't necessarily mean you max out half a dozen credit cards, if what you buy isn't what your mom or you son wanted, the gift is useless. It's the same thing as buying your ten year daughter jewelry, she'll have no use for it just like she'll have no use for a lot of the toys out there that people say are 'This year's best sellers'.

Christmas shopping should always start off with a budget, but it should be followed by an item list. The very least you should do is narrow down what kind of gift you're going to get for everyone on your list and also how many gifts you're going to get the kids, the spouse, your parents, your best friend etc. and always listen to what your kids or spouse or even your BFF hints at.

What's a useless gift? Its stuff that every house is overflowing with around Christmas like; candles, ribbons, candy canes, and photo frames. They're all about as good as fruit cake on Christmas day. Food is far more welcome in a house than a photo frame ever will be. Candy doesn't count as food; real Christmas food comes from Christmas gift baskets; it can be anything from fruit to chocolate covered fruit arrangements.

It's better to send something small and useful than to send a box full of nothing. Gifts for neighbors can be simple like holiday stockings that you can customize by adding names of the family members, or just taking a holiday stocking and stuffing it with a few goodies.

Unique Christmas fruit baskets, make your Christmas special.
